Chari was born in
1972 in Milwaukie
and began gymnastics
in 1978. A product
of Eugene's
Churchill High
School, she led
Oregon State's
Gymnastics team to
the NCAA
championships four
times. The Beavers
took 4th place in
1991, 6th in 1992
and 7th in 1993 and

that same feat in
1993. She achieved a
total of eight
perfect 10.0s in her
collegiate career.
She holds many
records at OSU in
the all-around, bars
and beam. In 1994
she received the
American Award which
honored the Nation's

continued to
participate in
Gymnastics for
several years after
college, competing
and placing high in
the Elite Nationals.
Now Chari
Knight-Hunter is
enjoying giving back
to her sport through
coaching a high
school gymnastics
team in New Jersey.
