Jack played for
the Portland Beavers
from 1932-34 before
going onto an
outstanding major
league career with
the Boston Red Sox
as a starting
pitcher. While
playing for Boston
(1935-41), he posted
a 16-10 record in
1940. He was also
the American League
strikeout leader in
1937 with 137.
Wilson was traded to
the Washington
Senators in 1941 and
ended his excellent
career in 1942 with
the Detroit Tigers.
His major league
career totals
include 281 games, a
.496 win/loss ration
and a 4.51 ERA. He
played for Columbia
Prep and coached the
University of
Portland Pilots.
